Dear visitor, welcome to my Nickpage. Here you get a quick Info about myself; why I like Radio-Transmissions,
My Name is Michel, born in 1964 and I live many years now in Portugal. My country of origin is Switzerland but here in Portugal I got better conditions for my health. We have in the average 300 sunny days per year and mostly warm days. I am retired and enjoy again the hobby after a break of 38 years.
In 1982 I received an invitation to enlist in the army. However, I did not want to be a grenadier or stay as DUMMY on a battlefield, so I decided to apply for a technical unit. I had missed one year of pre-training in the transmission unit and was advised to take the HAM Radio license, including CW, and the need to pass the exam.
At the end of 1983 I had passed the exam and was able to do military service in a special unit. For me it was very exciting to get to know-know about the technical and tactical equipment like jammers, panorama receivers and various antennas, scramblers, etc. and to work with them. This at the time of the "Iron Curtain" or "Cold War".
After the service for my country, I had devoted myself more to the newest technologies like computers, Networks as well as some programming languages and database design.
In January 2022 after more or less 38 years; I rediscovered the RADIO on the fantastic and magic 11m DX band. I enjoy again building antennas for different bands.
Ok my friends and buddies, thats in quick sentences.
I hope to meet many operators for a nice QSO.
Thank you for your interest and I appriciate any rating with a comment.
I wish to all radio operators 73,51 and 55.
