Hello Radio Friends:
A little about myself, I'm in my mid 50's and a 'born again' 11m/CB operator, after only returning back to Citizens Band Radio and DXing a couple of years ago. I started on CB radio in the very late 70s as a teenager, not long before it became legal in the United Kingdom. I worked in a local Electronics and CB Store in Southend-on-Sea for many years, gaining many friends, many of which are still on air today.
I have been a member the Tango Echo (Thames Estuary) DX Group, since the mid 80's, which generally covers the South East of England, London, Kent and Essex.
The group was formed in 1978, when FCC AM was secretly used, but really grew during the early eighties when CB was legalised in November 1981. The group closed down in the mid 2000s, but recently, a group of us have reopened the group, with new Group QSL cards and regalia. Currently, the group does not have a PO Box facility, so I am using the details below for confirmation postal QSL cards.
SSB DXing is a new beginning for me, as I only worked mainly FM in the past, so I look forward to speaking with you all in the near future.
